How far away from the airport is Sunset Blue?

Grantley Adams International Airport is about 40 minutes away by taxi.

Do I need a car to get around the island?

Probably, depending on how much sightseeing you wish to do. There is a wide selection of vehicle rental options on the island, as well as a frequent bus service.

What side of the road do I drive on? Do I need a permit?

As in the UK, driving in Barbados is on the left-hand side. If you're thinking of renting a car, you will need to purchase a temporary Barbadian driver's license for a small fee. The rental agency will be able to advise you further.

How far away are the beaches?

Sunset Blue is located less than a mile away from some of the finest beaches, restaurants, and shops on the west coast.

What is the island's climate like?

Barbados has a warm, tropical marine climate, with an average yearly temperature range of between 21°C (70°) and 30°C (86°F). Don't forget to bring plenty of sunscreen.

Where is the nearest bank?

There are several banks in nearby Holetown. The nearest cashpoint (ATM) is located inside the store at the Holetown garage.

What is the currency on the island?

The Barbados Dollar is the local currency, though the US dollar is also accepted universally across the island. The rate of exchange between the two is fixed at $2 BD to $1 US.

What is the voltage on the island?

The electricity on Barbados is 110 volts, the same as in the United States and Canada. Visitors from outside these countries will need to bring adapters.

How safe is the drinking water in Barbados?

Running water on the island is perfectly safe directly from the tap. However, should you prefer it, bottled water is also sold across Barbados.

Are there hairdryers in the villa?

Yes, hairdryers are located in each bathroom.

What laundry facilities are available?

Bedlinen and towels are changed two to three times per week. Personal laundry services can also be arranged with the housekeeper for an additional charge.

Are towels / bedlinen provided?

All towels and bedlinen are provided. We also provide towels for use at the pool and beach.

Do you have baby equipment?

On request we can provide cots, high chairs, and strollers (pushchairs). If you decide to hire a car, the rental company can assist you with child seats.
